Harley-Davidson Unveils Its 1st Ever Electric Motorcycle

BANGALORE: Harley-Davidson has been selling motorcycles for well over a century now and enjoys some of the most active and brand-loyal owners in virtually every country where it has it presence. But the bigger picture is that it’s not the fat boys or the Super Glide that is making the news but the newly introduced and company’s first electric motorcycle, ‘Project Livewire’ as reported by the Economic Times.

Betting on its huge customer base that its users aged 35 and older will not live forever, the Milwaukee-based company has unveiled its all new electric motorcycle which is designed for the purpose of getting insights of the rider expectations from an electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Code-named Project LiveWire, the hand-built bike is styled like no other Harley on the road, as it looks more like a sleek and low-slung cafe racer than the big highway cruisers which is typically associated with the brand.

The company said starting select consumers across the U.S. will be able to ride and provide feedback on the bike, helping to shape the future of Harley-Davidson's first-ever electric motorcycle.

Commenting on the move, Harley-Davidson Motor Company President and Chief Operating Officer Matt Levatich said: "Project LiveWire is another exciting, customer-led moment in our history."
