Fourth Edition Of Prius, Out For Sale In 2016: Toyota


BENGALURU: The Japanese car maker Toyota has unveiled the fourth edition of its Prius model. The latest version is tweaked under the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, to enhance the performance like cost-efficient development of new front and rear-wheel-drive models. As the company claims, the double wishbone layout is added for better handling and steering response, as reported by AutocarIndia.

The design of the car looks like it is being inspired by the Miria model, with front headlights made a bit more stylish since they are dragged a bit backward and elegant new bumper.  The C pillars are made blacked-out, which adds up a unique look to the car, with featuring loftier LED rear lamp and spoiler mounted on the hatchback's glass.

The car promises around 32-34kpl milage, which could prove it as an economical vehicle and the length of the car has been increased as part of the version update. While speaking about the engine, the car is expected to get the upgraded version of the present 1.8 liter petrol engine along with battery-powered electric motor which plays an integral part in making it a fuel efficient car.   

The Toyota is said manufacture most of its cars on the latest TNGA platform in the future, in order to increase the body strength by 30 to 36 percent. Thought the first look of the car is out, the company is planning to release it into the market next year and the Indian entry date is also yet to be announced.
