# Junot Diaz, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (2007)

Junot Diaz presented a very memorable and great piece of work in the form of a book named The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. This book has an in-depth view on the life of an overweight Dominican-American nerd belonging to a very isolated and segregated area.

The novel interprets the human quality and their faith in love and their desire to find one. The main character is very romantic and holds simple dreams in life but exhausted and saddened by the curse that has haunted Oscar's family for generations, dooming them to prison, torture, tragic accidents, and, above all, ill-starred love.

The boy’s dream faded away with him though he held on to it until his last. The book reminds you of the cultural and contemporary stigma that the world around you instigates and you sometimes voluntarily or involuntarily give up to these.
