Ducati Restarts India Operations, Launches Two New Scrambler Variants

BANGALORE: Sighting great potential for Luxury bikes in India as well as presence of youth has made the Italian Sports bike maker ‘Ducati’ to restart its Indian operations again and its certainly not surprising. Though the brand had made its debut way back in 2009, the operations stopped in January, 2014, as the bike-maker decided to form its own wholly-owned subsidiary and also appoint dealerships directly in the country, reports HT/NDTV.

Having kicked-off the delivery process of its bikes in the country, the company currently has dealerships in Delhi and Mumbai, where Gurgaon being the latest addition, which is one of the largest Ducati dealerships in the world.  Ducati also announced that it is looking at approximately 13 showrooms by the end of 2016, where Bengaluru is soon to get one later this year.  

Marking this re-entry the company also reveled two variants for its iconic Scrambler series namely Classic and Throttle with prices starting at 7.5 lakh (ex-shoowroom Delhi). Some of other Ducati models for India include, Diavel, Hypermotard, Hyperstrada and the most popular Monster series.

Ravi Avalur, Managing Director, Ducati India Pvt. Ltd., said, "Of the two new Scrambler variants introduced, the Classic is aimed at those who appreciate attention to detail and 1970s style, but who don't want to compromise on riding pleasure and functionality. The Full Throttle version, inspired by the flat track world, is destined for those who want a motorcycle perfect for every-day use and with a distinctive racing style."
