Domestic Car Sales Down 8 Percent, Bikes Sales Rise Marginally in Nov

New Delhi: Domestic car sales fell by 8.25 per cent to 1,58,257 units in November this year compared to 1,72,493 units in the same month last year.

According to the data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) today, motorcycle sales last month went up marginally to 8,67,518 units from 8,67,088 units in November, 2011.

Total two-wheeler sales in November, 2012 rose by 1.23 per cent to 11,75,429 units from 11,61,176 in November, 2011.

Total sales of commercial vehicles were down by 7.31 per cent to 61,410 units from 66,254 units in the year-ago period, SIAM said.

Total sale of vehicles across categories registered an increase of 1.79 per cent at 15,15,600 units last month as against 14,88,894 units in November 2011, it added.
