Car of the Week: Mahindra Quanto


Bangalore: The utility vehicle mogul, Mahindra is back with its all new compact SUV, Mahindra Quanto, which deserves to be called the car of the week. This 4-meter, 7-seater hatchback comes powered by 1.5L, 3-cylinder twin-turbocharged diesel engine in 4 solid variants, C2, C4, C6 and the high-end C8.

Performance:

The new release, backed by mCR100, common rail, BS4 diesel engine, unlashes the power of 100bhp. The engine capacity is 1493cc and it becomes the first to offer a 1.5L engine with twin stage turbo that boosts the torque and power. The Micro Hybrid Technology of the same checks the fuel consumption, offering the ARAI certified mileage of 17.2kmpl and 240 Nm torque. It can run races from 0-100kmph in 17.8 seconds.

Safety Features:

Mahindra has launched the SUV tightly packed with features, primarily catering to safety, then focusing on style and fun. It has Dual SRS airbags that blow up instantly in case of an emergency, which can defend the passengers from serious injury. The Anti-lock Braking System gives maximum control on smooth surfaces. The Intellipark Reverse Assist System of the car helps when reversing. The SUV also offers powerful fog lamps that render better visibility in foggy weather. It provides Digital Immobiliser, Child lock on middle & rear door and wash and wiper at the front and rear windows as well.
