Car Of The Week: Maruti WagonR Stingray

Bangalore: Country’s most trusted and largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India has launched the new edition of its once best selling hatchback WagonR, named Stingray.

The new car with extreme over-the-skin makeover is aimed at the young population who give importance to the looks more than the usability of their daily machine. Stingray will be more expensive than the existing WagonR by about 20,000.

"The launch of Stingray is in line with our strategy to provide new and refurbished models to our customers to create excitement in the market place. Indian auto industry has been going through a slowdown, but despite this, customers continue to buy Maruti cars," Told Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO of MSI during the launch. With this, the company will have nine models in its compact car portfolio.

Exterior:

Stingray gets major makeovers in the front with class-first projector headlamps, big air damps and a reflector grille. The fog lights and bonnet are also redesigned to gives the peppy look to its tallboy design.

Sadly, the company has not given much treatment to the back portion of the car except for the chrome plated tail lamps and a “stingray” embossed chrome plate over the license plate.

Apart from this, the car gets new alloy wheels with gun metal finish, blacked out B-pillars, side skirts and rear spoiler, some limited to the high end version.
