Bentley Set To Launch The Fastest SUV In India

BENGALURU: British luxury car manufacturer, Bentley Motors is ready to introduce its first row of SUV ‘Bentayga’ in India on coming 22nd April. Boasted as the fastest and world’s most powerful SUV, Bentayga runs at a handsome 300Km/hr speed. It is also claimed to cover 0 to 100 Km distance within 4.2 seconds, as reported by firstpost.com.

Bentayga started its journey last year during Frankfurt Motor Show as Bentley’s first off-roader and seven seater car (however, currently available as five seater). Quite astonishingly this SUV is equipped with Drive Dynamics menu that includes powertrain settings for sand, snow mud, and gravel. In Indian SUV market, Bentayga is expected to compete with Land Rover’s Range Rover which consists of same off-road feature. Manufactured from Bentley’s Crewe factory, the SUV is built upon Volkswagen’ MLB platform for longitudinal and front-engine automobiles, which is also used by Audi and Porsche. 5.14 meter long with standard three meter long wheelbase, Bentayga has twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine that produces 600bhp along with a 900Nm peak torque output.

In India, Bentley’s has priced the basic Bentayga at nearly Rs 3.75 crore, while the well-equipped versions are estimated to cost over Rs 5 crore. Aiming to be popular among the current Bentley owners, the company has allotted 20 cars in India for the first series of sell. The initial delivery is likely to begin from the early June this year. When launched, Bentayga will be the most expensive SUV in the country surpassing Land Rover that stands up at Rs 2.67 Crore.
