BMW's Much Hyped Hybrid Car Is Here!

BENGALURU: For all the car enthusiasts out there, here is some exciting news for you. BMW has launched its first much hyped hybrid car, ‘i8’ with a price tag of 2.29 crore. The car first featured in the movie Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and first caught the eyes in the Auto expo 2014, reports The Indian Express. 

To be specific, there is a lot of creativity involved in its creation and is eco friendly too. Apart from the striking exterior design, this hybrid supercar sports a 1.5 litre three cylinder turbo petrol engine which was not taken from any other car but newly developed by BMW.

This super powerful motor generates power of 231 BHP churning out a peak torque of 320Nm on the petrol motor. On the other hand, the electric motor churns out 131PS with a max torque of 250Nm. Combining both the results, the BMW i8 gives a total power output of 362PS and an overall torque of 570Nm which is much more than one can expect on a 1.5 litre engine.
