With the backdrop of high snow covered peaks, a glacier with the same name and crystal clear blue waters, Gurudongmar Lake, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful lakes in India.

The lake remains completely frozen in the winter months from November to Mid-May. Gurudongmar Lake is the largest and like others considered as sacred according to the local tradition of Sikkim.
