Mawlynnong:
Mawlynnong in Meghalaya can set an example to the rest of India as it is considered as the cleanest village in Asia since 2003. Mawlynnong is located along Indo-Bangladesh border which is 90 km away from Shillong (capital of Meghalaya). Wastes are collected into dustbins made of bamboos and convert them as manure.
Khonoma:
Khonoma village in Nagaland is said to be the greenest village in India. This is a typical Naga village that enlightens us about the ethnic Naga culture of around 3000 people. However this place is surrounded by thick forest hence guaranties a spectacular view of nature.
