#1. Edsel Corsair, Year: 1958

Edsel was the legendary flop; Ford spent more than $300 million in the making and promptly lost it all. The name Edsel was given after Henry Ford’s son, they believed Edsel was the car of the future, soon they realized that it wasn’t going to live up to expectations. The button-activated Teletouch automatic transmission, which was mounted on the steering wheel and resulted in drivers accidentally honking their horn when they were trying to change gears became more problematic and It turned out to be one of the biggest marketing disasters of all times and the manufacturers were able to sell only 10000 cars in 1958.

#2. Pinto, Year: 1971

The Ford Pinto was a pretty good car. The car derives its name from the Pinto horse and was launched in several versions over the year. Some people really enjoyed their Pintos right up until the brakes failed and the car tended to erupt in flame in rear-end collisions because of its rear-mounted gas tank. It earns a reputation as a fire-prone death trap and Ford pays out millions in judgments.
