#10 1962 Ferrari 330 Testa Rossa

In the year 2007, a 1962 Ferrari 330 TRI/LM Testa Rossa, the last Testa Rossa built by Ferrari, was sold for $9.2 million at the RM auctions in Maranello, Italy.

This model is a refined and improved one in the series of its sports-racing cars, with much technical sophistication. Driven by the incomparable endurance racing of the racing-pair, Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien, this front-engine car, is the only 4-liter Testa Rossa built. It is a car that started its life as the Scuderia SEFAC Ferrari 259 TRI60/61 Spider s/n 0780 TR in 1960. Later Ferrari utilized 0780 TR to form the basis for 0808 by the end of 1961. 330 TRI/LM s/n 0808 was sold at RM’s Monterey Sports Car Auction in August 2002.

In 1974, the 330 TRI/LM was spectacularly re-bodied as a coupe by Fantuzzi and commuted in New York City before finding its way into the collection of Pierre Bardinon, who had its original coachbuilder, Fantuzzi, re-create the Le Mans coachwork. Ferrari 330 TRI/LM 0808 was carefully restored to its 1962 Le Mans-winning configuration, powered by its original engine.
