Bangalore: Which are the best places to be born in 2013? The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) revealed the countries which will provide the best opportunities for a healthy, safe and prosperous life in years to come. Sadly, India took a distant 66^th position and none of the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) were seen scoring impressively. The U.S. was on the 16th position. The survey was conducted among 80 countries and Nigeria came last, indicating being the worst place for a baby to enter the world in 2013. Here are the 10 best places to be born in 2013:

Switzerland:
Switzerland is named as the best place to be born in the world in 2013, with an index score of 8.22. People born in Switzerland will tend to be the happiest as per the index and have the best quality of life judged in terms of wealth, health and trust in public institutions. It is also one of the richest countries in the world.

As per previous research it is noted that in Switzerland, the average person makes $27,756 a year. It was noted that 79 percent of the people aged 15 to 64 have a job and in terms of literacy, 87 percent of adults aged 25-64 have earned the equivalent of a high-school degree. Life expectancy at birth in Switzerland is 83 years and there is good public trust in government as well.
