BANGALORE: If you are interested to get different experiences while travelling all around the world, head off to some of the best night markets. Most night markets usually sell traditional items or foods. You should remember that not all night markets are held all year long. There are several night markets that are held in certain period of time. If you want to learn more about these night markets, check the list below, as compiled by Economic Times.

Saturday Night Bazaar, Arpora (Goa): Known for its sunny beaches and electrifying nightlife, Goa, a tropical region in India is also home to the Saturday night market at Arpora known as Ingo’s Saturday Night Bazaar. This most famous night market in India has the perfect list of things to see and do for curious travelers. Initially started in 1999 on a very small scale with no expectations of growing, it has now turned into a popular shopping spree with over a hundred stalls selling the best in junk jewellery, footwear, beach clothing and various handicrafts.

For those with a wild streak, tattoo and piercing artists are aplenty as are a string of bars. For the foodies, apart from typical Goan food on offer, the market also serves cuisine ranging from Mexican to Italian. It opens every Saturday night from 7pm till early morning.

Chiang Mai's Night Market, Thailand: One of northern Thailand's biggest draws, Chiang Mai's nightly market transforms a three-block stretch of Chiang Klan Road into a lively shopping and food concourse. Stalls stand shoulder-to-shoulder in front of covered arcades, internet cafes, and restaurants, but most of the fun is found at the street-side, where it is as easy to find bargain Rolex knockoffs and Hangover DVDs as it is painted silk and paper lanterns. For true artisan treasures, swing by one of the city's weekend nighttime "walking markets," which are closed off to traffic, particularly the Sunday Market along Ratchadamnoen Road.
