VK Singh's Statement on 'Paying Ministers' Turns Controversial

Bangalore: With a rise in corruption, it is not only the common man paying to get things done, but also the Indian Army. The armed forces have been paying money to Jammu and Kashmir ministers to maintain peace and harmony in the state, reports The Times of India.

Former Army chief General VK Singh told in an interview that paying ministers is not anything new in J&K. "It has been happening since independence and everybody would have known about this. It is not something invented by V K Singh. Funding ministers is to get people together in Kashmir," he said, as reported by The Times of India.

He added by saying, “This is most serious and ludicrous charge anyone can put. Reports talking about toppling the government in New Delhi and then using Rs 1.5 crore to topple the government in J&K." Singh says that the state CM Omar Abdullah is well aware about the funding of state ministers by the Army to carry out certain tasks.
