UP To Offer Wi-Fi Facilities At Prominent Tourist Spots


LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav issued directions to install Wi-Fi facilities at prominent places in the state, an official said.

He said providing such facilities on a priority basis at religious places, historical and tourist hot sports was part of providing facilities to the tourists in a phased manner.

He also directed the Reliance Jio, which is working to provide 4G services in the state, to fix timelines for this and complete the task in a stipulated time frame, an official told IANS.

The chief minister also said these tourist destinations are visited by a large number of tourists and pilgrims from across the country and abroad and his government was committed to provide better facilities for them.

Under this, all important river banks and the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, the Bada and Chota Imambada, Ram Manohar Lohia Park, Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow, the Taj Mahal, Shilpgram, Itmad-ud-daulah's Tomb, and Fatehpur Sikri in and around Agra, the Dudhwa National Park and Katarnia Ghat would be in equipped with wi-fi facilities in a phased manner.
