2.  Mary Celeste:

Mary Celeste, the British-American merchant brigantine, which started to sail from Staten Island on November 5th, 1872, towards Genoa, Italy, under the command of Captain Benjamin Briggs. Apart from the seven crew members, Captain Briggs’s wife and his daughter accompanied them on the ship that carried 1,701 barrels of alcohol worth $ 35,000. Exactly after one month of its start from Staten Island, on December 4th [or 5th] 1872, a helmsman of a Canadian merchant ship ‘Dei Gratia’ spotted the Mary Celeste that was sailing unevenly between the Azores and the Portuguese coast. So, after some officials of the “De Gratia” ship got into Mary Celeste, they had a surprise, as they got to know the people traveling in this ship were missing along with few papers, timepiece, a lifeboat and the sextant. When they checked whether any violence had happened, they got to know, there was nothing happened like that. Since then, there are excess of theories given regarding the fate of the people who boarded the ship, but still the actual story has not be outspread. Since then, the disappearance of the crew members has been considered as the greatest maritime mystery of all time.
