The Indian Politicians Facing Serious Corruption Charges


BANGALORE: It is indeed shocking and surprising when one comes across a country’s biggies like politicians being a part of lawbreaker. This is because the nation’s wellbeing is incorporated in the hands of the elected leaders. But often, we come across some political leaders who are well known as the corrupted one. Let us take a sneak peak at those Indian lawmakers who is infamous as the lawbreakers too, compiled by Yahoo.

Suresh Kalmadi: The Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi, almost single handedly caused a loss of hundreds of crores of rupees to the country. The, CWG organized by Kalmadi was no less than a loot with numerous reports of 70000 crores spent on the Games, only half of the amount was actually spent. Owing to his involvement in the scam, Kalmadi was charged with corruption and sent to Tihar jail. Besides cheating and criminal conspiracy, the accused have also been charged with offences relating to forgery and use of forged documents as genuine, criminal intimidation, destruction of evidence of the IPC and section 13(1)(d) read with section 13(2) (criminal misconduct by public servants) of the PC Act.
The accused were charge sheeted by the CBI for "illegally" awarding a contract to install Timing, Scoring and Results system for the 2010 CWG to Swiss Timing at inflated rates causing a loss of over 90 crore to the exchequer.
