The All Time Highest Goal Scorers in World Cup Football


BANGALORE: There are always greats and record holders in every game that is ever played. All sports have seen the rise of icons that are remembered for their amazing feats. Football proudly has many players across the years that have made their name specifically in the highest goal scorers list in the world cup.

Miroslav Klose: The German striker tops the list with 16 goals over passing the previous record holder, Ronaldo. Klose has played in four world cups and this year in Brazil level with Ronaldo and finally rose to top after scoring against Brazil in the semi final knock outs. He is also the all time highest goal scorer for his country with 71 goals.

Klose has made clear that records matter less and that a world cup crown would be the best treat of all.

Luiz Ronaldo: One of the greatest footballers in the world was known for his ability to break any defense to score. His speed and pace was like no other along with the ease to finish and score at any given chance. He held the record previously with 15 goals having played four world cups since 1994 and last in 2006.

Ronaldo who works with a Brazilian broadcasting company praised Klose on air.

Gerd Meuller: The German striker helped Germany win the world cup back in 1974 defeating the Netherlands. He has scored 14 goals in world cups. He held the post for the highest goal scorer for a period of 32 years until Ronaldo took his place in 2006.

He is also known for having scored the highest goals in one calendar year with 85 goals. This feat though was beaten by Messi.
