Roof For Each Family By 2022, Visa On Arrival Now For 150 Countries


NEW DELHI: Every family in India will have a roof over its head by 2022, India's 75th year of independence, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said Saturday.

Presenting the union budget in the Lok Sabha, Jaitley said: "A roof for each family in India by 2022 - 75th year of India's Independence." He said that all schemes had to be centred around the poor.

India will provide visa on arrival (VoA) to people from 150 countries, a sharp rise from the 43 countries now, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced Saturday.

"Last year VoA was issued to 43 countries. As tourism in the country has increased, I propose to increase the countries covered under this to 150," Jaitley said while presenting the union budget in parliament.
