Rio Olympics 2016 Review: Hits and Misses


BENGALURU: Rio Olympics is over now and for two continuous weeks the world witnessed some of the extraordinary performances from more than 11,000 athletes participating in 306 events of 28 sports. Many world records and Olympic records were broken and a new generation of stars came into limelight. Some old stars were able to maintain their purple patch while some other faced shocking defeats. Here is a list of some big star players and their Hits and Miss at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt, fondly known as ‘Lightning Bolt’ is the fastest man on earth. He came to Rio with some fitness issues, but the superstar of athletics arena performed in the same fashion as his fans and the whole world was expecting him to. He completed his Triple-Triple by winning gold medals in 100m, 200m, and 4x100m events. The Jamaican might not be in his supreme form, but still was unbeatable to other athletes. He performed like a champion by winning a gold medal on his 31st birthday. This Olympics might be his last one, but he will remain the greatest showman in athletics event.
