PM Narendra Modi Wishes Nawaz Sharif On His 64th Birthday

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on his birthday.

"On his birthday, I convey my good wishes to Mr. Nawaz Sharif and I pray that Almighty blesses him with good health," Modi said.

These greetings are surprising as in the recent meet at the SAARC summit the two leaders did not even exchange a glance despite of the fact that they were on the same dais. It is however ironic that Modi shook hands with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at a mountain retreat outside Kathmandu and then again before the curtain went down on the conference. The two were caught on camera as they smiled at each other and even exchanged few words.

Narendra Modi seems considerate about such formal and cordial relation between both nations setting aside the turmoil in the border.
