PM Modi Asks Pepsi, Coke To Blend Fruit Juices In Fizzy Drinks

BANGALORE: PM Modi visited the city to unveil the integrated food park in Tumkur and in his speech he gave new hope to farmers by revealing that he has asked aerated drinks manufacturers Pepsi and Coke to add fruit juice into the drink.

"We drink Pepsi, Coca-Cola and I do not know how many similar beverages are available in the market. The trade runs into billions of rupees. I have asked the companies if they can blend 5 per cent natural fruit juice in the beverages they make," Modi said as reported by Economic Times.

This business is understood to be a multibillion dollar industry and if they are able to incorporate a little of fruit juice then PM Modi is sure that the farmers will have to no longer go looking for a market to sell their products but will have a secure source of income. He also talked about how this initiative will help reduce the wastage of fruits and create better food processing parks like the one opened in Tumkur.

He spoke about organizing the beverage industry which is at present unorganized and unruly with huge wastage. The PM stressed on the need to inculcate more scientific methods in farming as well.
