Open AI Joined Hands with Microsoft Azure to Surge AI Experiments

BENGALURU: The evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) helped in easing human work and providing more precision to it. There has been lot of talks happening on the table regarding AI and its effects on Human race. AI has also been listed as one of the reason for human extinction. In order to unite and make technology better for humanity, Microsoft announced partnership with Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Sam Altman’s non-profit organization, Open AI, which is designed to promote AI as helpful technology for humans rather than dangerous.

Entrepreneurs started this organization with a $1 billion investment. Open AI will use Microsoft’s cloud-based operating system, Microsoft Azure to power their research into deeper learning and neural networks. As mentioned by Open AI in its blog, the selection of Azure was for its well build hardware configurations, which can optimize deep learning—with offerings such as K80 GPUs with infiniBand interconnects.

Open AI will use thousands to ten thousands of such machines to surge the process of experimentation. The company also said that results of the experiments performed over the time will be shared with the public. Open AI will release open-source software so that users can best run large scale AI workload on the cloud.

Open AI is excited towards bringing Pascal GPU’s onto the cloud, which is the latest and the most powerful GPU’s available. With an objective to democratize access of AI, Open AI said that the main function of the partnership with Microsoft is to accelerate the AI community.
