Northeast Development: A Bigger Challenge For PM Modi

BANGALORE: India is a land where there are so many countless issues that still needs to be resolved.  Among the major issues the most talked about one is “Northeast Challenge.” For Narendra Modi; it was significantly more troublesome when he got to be PM, conveying the uproars and BJP's ace Hindu incline, reports The Economic Times.  Three of its seven states -Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya -are Christian. In Arunachal, Buddhists and devotees of animism and different indigenous religions are in a dominant part.

The district's monetary backwardness, history of rebellion, ethno-religious clashes and mental estrangement from whatever remains of India make it complex. Fixed in by China, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Bhutan, it has multifaceted issues of territorial, national and universal measurements.

Some key tasks for Modi are 14 rail lines, a sports college in Manipur, six agriculture institutes, Ishan Uday (grants for 10,000 understudies) and 18 FM stations. He has assigned 53,000 crore for NE in his first Budget, delegated Kiren Rijuju and Sarbanand Sonowal priests. He sends 3 priests to NE fortnightly.

Many people have admired his backing for the Indo-Bangla Land deal, which BJP had before contradicted. This has resuscitated any expectations of transforming NE into a base for exchange with Southeast Asia, what Modi calls Act East Policy. According to Lalthlamuana Ralte, economics teacher at Aizawl's Patchhunga University College, “He's done well on the diplomatic front. His economic policies will put us on a par with China,” reports ET.
