Nandan Nilekhani Appreciates Modi For Continuing Aadhar

BANGALORE:  Infosys cofounder Nandan Nilekani applauds Modi for continuing with Aadhaar, the unique identity project headed by him from 2009 until the Congress-led UPA was in power.

"The fact that Aadhaar has been continued is itself very heartening and encouraging,”he said. . Being a former Congress candidate who lost the Lok Sabha election to the BJP's Ananth Kumar, Nilekani was however plain in objective that he would not serve in Modi Government if he is offered a job.

“But I don't see myself joining (his) government," said Nilekhani in an interview with Economic Times.

His rival Ananth Kumar had threatened to scrap the Aadhaar scheme, calling it "wasteful expenditure" and a "fraud of the Congress party." In spite of such ridiculous comments made by his party, Modi wisely moved on with Aadhar for various implementations.

When asked about his interest in taking up any further political position he said, "Well, I thought I'll turn into a corporate for today."

The interview was held on the farewell  for Kris Gopalkrishnan, the last of Infosys’s cofounders in Bangalore’s Electronic City.

Gopalakrishnan, who was Infosys CEO between 2007 and 2011, ruled out getting into politics and said that he will focus on his entrepreneurial ambitions further. "In my case, at this point, there is no political ambition," said Gopalakrishnan.
