NFL Selects Twitter to Streamline Entire NFL Season of 2016


BENGALURU: The national football league unveiled an alliance with Twitter to telecast OTT digital stream of 2016 NFL regular season, across the globe for free. According to the contract, Twitter will be live streaming 10 football games which will be broadcasted by NBC and CBS. At the same time the matches will also be telecasted on NFL network to protect leagues “Tri-Cast” distribution model of broadcast, cable, and digital.

This partnership allows over 800 Million registered and non-registered users worldwide on the Twitter platform to watch the match for free on various devices. Apart from live streaming of NFL action, the alliance also includes highlights from matches that are completed and pre-game interviews and talks from players and teams; keeping fans indulged in the game before and after games. Agreement also includes additional opportunity for those brands promoting with NFL broadcast partners.

The partnership has encouraged NFL to expand its digital sphere by delivering the most significant content in sports and entertainment present across multiple digital platforms, free for all users. According to Rooger Goodell, NFL Commissioner, Twitter is the apt platform, and all the live events will be disclosed to the public through it. This platform updates each and everything about the events to the fans and also keeps them entertained during matches.
