Mumbai among World's Dirtiest Cities, Tokyo Cleanest

Bangalore: It’s no surprise that one of the Indian cities has been tagged the dirtiest city in a global survey. However, the surprise lies in the fact that Mumbai is called the least clean cities among the 40 cities surveyed by TripAdvisor's Cities Survey.

The survey was conducted to get an overview of 40 key tourist cities across the world, from the travelers and locals point of view. The report compiled was based on more than 75,000 responses received from those who wrote recent reviews on the featured cities by TripAdvisor, as reported by ANI.

The various categories used to rate cities were best for shopping, friendliest locals, best taxi services, friendliest taxi drivers, cleanest streets, ease of getting around, best public transport, safest city and best value for money.

Out of the 40 cities, Tokyo was said to be most highly decorated city in the world, ranking number one for best taxi services, friendliest taxi drivers, cleanest streets, best public transportation and safety.

The survey stated Mumbai to be the least clean among cities on the list, but apart from that it also ranked the least in another category, that is, least in ‘ease of getting around’. That is two ‘lows’ for Mumbai as a travel destination.
