Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur

Umaid Bhawan Palace is the main residence of the royal family of Jodhpur, which is one of the biggest private residences in the world. The Palace also called as Chittar Palace during its construction due to use of stones commonly known as Chittar in the building.

Named after Maharaja Umaid Singh, who is the grandfather of the current owners of the Palace, was built between 1929 and 1944. This historical heritage monument, Umaid Bhawan Palace, has 347 rooms and now Taj Hotels manage a part of this Palace.

Jag Mandir Palace, Udaipur

The three-storied beautiful Palace, Jag Mandir Palace, located on the southern island of Lake Pichola. This palatial yellow sandstone and marble structure was built in early years of 17th century by Maharana Karan Singh to serve as a hiding place for Shah Jahan also known as Prince Khurram. Inside the Palace, the residential suits, reception halls and courtyards are constructed in both Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. However, the royal family used Jag Mandir Palace, also known as ‘Lake Garden Place’, as a summer resort and pleasure Palace for holding royal get-togethers.
