BENGALURU: Indians are highly obsessed on owning branded products; hence they mostly tend to check tags for brand names, before the purchase. Thus, foreign brands have acquired the Indian market, and some brand products are the symbol of prestige and luxury. But not many of us know that some of the most popular brands currently in the country either have Indian roots or under the Indian subsidiary so take a look at the list as compiled by the ScoopWhoop.  

Chandon Wine:

Chandon Wine, a popular wine brand, serving all around the world and is owned by the French tycoon Moët Hennessy. But, the unknown fact is that it is added with Indian flavors. Yes! You heard it right; the respective wine is made of grapes that are grown in India.

Jaguar Cars:

Jaguar Cars, a multinational luxury car brand, widely known for its killer looks as the brand name itself says it all. Though it is headquartered in United Kingdom, our Indian hands are the authorities of it, TATA Groups; the Indian pride is the current owner of the respective car brand and owned it for 1.7 billion Pounds form Ford Motors.

HiDesign:

HiDesign is leather goods manufacturer that are mostly chosen by the customers for its made quality and elegant finish, it is also figure of lavishness. Correspondingly, the surprising fact is that HiDesign products are manufactured in Pondicherry and raw materials are supplied from Tamil Nadu.

Allen Solly:

Allen Solly, an international lifestyle brand and is in buzz among the youths. The reputation of the brand in India is no less than any other country. Relatively the jaw dropping fact is that it is owned by the Adithy Birla Group, a well know business conglomeration of the country.

East India Company:

East India Company, the first multinational company in world that was once the strongest empire by ruling the Indian soil. But today Indians have paid it back, guess how? Sanjiv Mehta an Indian born entrepreneur is now the proud Indian owner of the company by acquiring shares from 30 to 40 different share holders in 2005.

Royal Enfield:

Ask college goers or 50 plus gentlemen about bikes, no man finishes the conversation without mentioning about Royal Enfield bikes in India, that is the depth of brand popularity in the country. Initially, the company started manufacturing motor cycles under Enfield Cycle Company in UK and later sold their bikes in India as well, but today the company is owned by the Eicher Motors Limited and the production plant is in Chennai.

Flying Machine:

Flying Machine, a brand that is mostly preferred by the young fashion savvies and skinheads that is also in hot demand on e-Commerce sites, but the parent industry behind the brand is Arvind Lifestyle Brand Ltd, a tycoon in Indian textile industry and brand was launched in 2005.

Louis Philippe:

Louis Philippe, multinational top producer of classical apparels for men. The styling of the products is inspired by the Louis Philippe I, once a French king and the company was established in 1989. As of latest surveys it is one of the largest apparel brand in India and don’t forget, the brand is owned by the Madura Fashion & Lifestyle.
