Least Populated Cities in India


Bangalore: India is one of the most populated countries in the world. When one thinks of India the first picture that comes to mind is that of crowded streets and mounting population. However, amidst all of this, here are 10 least populated cities in India, as listed by yahoo.com.

Nagda:
First on the list of least populated cities is Nagda. It is a city in Ujjain district in Madhya Pradesh and is an industrial town in the Malwa region. The city is situated on the bank of Chambal River. As per the 2011 India census, Nagda had a population of 100,036. Currently, Nagda is a major industrial town having manufacturing unit of Viscose fibre, thermal power plant and a chemical plant. It is a major ISO granted railway junction on the Delhi-Mumbai railway line.

Banswara:
Banswara takes the second spot on the list. It is a city in Banswara District in south Rajasthan. It is named for the "bans" or bamboo forests in the area and also known as 'City of Hundred Islands', due to presence of numerous islands in the Mahi River, which flows through Banswara. The city has a population of 100,128.  Its urban / metropolitan population is 101,177 of which 51,941 are males and 49,236 are females.
