Indian Netas and Their 'Conditional' Love for Helicopters


Bangalore: Helicopters are becoming a new favorite toy among India’s political honchos. The Bhartiya Janata Party and the Congress have recently booked 16 helicopters even before the polling dates were announced, reports Sahil Makkar for Rediff. About 20-25 helicopters and fixed-wing aircrafts are carrying political parties for the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

The occurrence of this trend is likely to boost after the withdrawal of nominations, as now is the time for political parties to connect themselves with election campaigns.

States like Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are likely to produce the highest demand for these flying devices, mainly because Madhya Pradesh has 230 assembly seats while Rajasthan comprises of 200 seats. Also, In Chhattisgarh, an extensive use of aircraft is going to witness as major area is under threat of  Naxal’s  attack and many regions are difficult to accessed.
