India Will Surpass China by 2030

Bangalore: India will rise by 2030 and will dominate the world economy in the middle of the gradual decline of the west. China will see a slow down too, said the U.S. intelligence community in a new report.

China has marched ahead, but India will be there after 2015, even as China starts receding, reported Chidanand Rajghatta for TNN.  By 2030, Asia, driven by India as much as China "will be well on its way to returning to being the world's powerhouse, just as it was before 1500," said the report ‘Global Trends 2030: Alternative Worlds’. It said that Pakistan will be a no-show.

As per the report India will march ahead after 2020 even as China begins to decline, chiefly due to demographic changes which will see China aging before India.  The report said "As the world's largest economic power, China is expected to remain ahead of India, but the gap could begin to close by 2030. India's rate of economic growth is likely to rise while China's slows. In 2030 India could be the rising economic powerhouse that China is seen to be today. China's current economic growth rate -- 8 to 10 percent -- will probably be a distant memory," as reported by TNN.
