India, U.S. Gears for Next Round of Military Exercises

BANGALORE: The country’s might is depicted on the number of warfare it deployed and the successful military exercises it carries out. Therefore, after the Modi government came to power, India is all set for the next round of military exercises with the U.S. at the top-quality "Malabar" naval war games in the Pacific and the rigorous "Yudh Abhyas" counter-terror drills in Uttarakhand, reports Rajat Pandit of TNN.

Later this month, on a long-range overseas deployment, India will transmit four warships like Rajput-class destroyer INS Ranvijay, stealth frigate INS Shivalik, frigate, corvette INS Kuthar and fleet tanker INS Shakti.

An official said, "The warships will first head for the 'Indra' exercise with Russia off Vladivostok. They will then reach the North Pacific towards end-July for the Malabar exercise, which apart from India and U.S. will include Japan this time," reports TNN.

In this year’s Malabar war games, India has invited its neighboring country Japan to be a part of it. This is mainly because India’s PM Narendra Modi is keen on further improving and strengthening the strategic partnership with Japan, the next country he will visit after Bhutan.

Both India and Japan are cautious of increasing military might of China and increasing assertive behavior in the Asia Pacific.
