India To Host International Peace Conference

DUBAI: India will host an international peace conference later this year, highlighting the efforts of the UAE's founding president late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to spread peace and unity across the world.

The conference, to be held on December 10 in New Delhi under the slogan 'Renaissance of the World Through Peace', is organised in recognition of the efforts of late Sheikh Zayed, who ruled the UAE for over 33 years (1971-2004).

It seeks to achieve Sheikh Zayed's principles of peace and security and in appreciation for his outstanding contribution in spreading the values of unity and brotherhood throughout the world.

India Scholars Council General Secretary Sheikh Aboobaker Ahammed launched the slogan of the conference in London, the UAE's official news agency Wam reported.

"The conference aims to introduce the noble values of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and highlight his outstanding contributions to the achievement of peace and unity among the various peoples," Sheikh Aboobaker said.
