India Ready To Face Any Challenge Post U.S. Troops Withdrawal From Afghanistan: Rajnath Singh

NEW DELHI: India is ready to deal with any challenge to its internal security after withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan by year-end and prepared to face threats of terror groups like al Qaeda, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said.

"We are discussing the issue of (U.S.) troops withdrawal from Afghanistan and how to deal with the situation. We are taking action," he told reporters.

Asked what steps the government was taking to face the consequence of the U.S. troops withdrawal from Afghanistan, Singh said such strategic issues cannot be disclosed but made it clear that the government will deal all challenges that come to it with its full might.

"Whatever big the challenge is, we will face it boldly. I want to assure the people of the nation that there is no need to fear," he said.

Asked about al Qaeda's purported message sent through a video threatening action in some states, he said the authenticity of the CD was still being examined.

"We cannot say much about the CD but I want to tell you that we have enough strength to face any challenge of organizations like al Qaeda," he said.
