India, Mullahs' Last Best Friend?

Bangalore: At the wake of newly imposed sanctions on its oil sector and the increased attempts of international isolation by the global powers, Iran is finding a great friend down in South Asia – INDIA.

As the world's biggest democracy chooses the road over the international pressure and decides to continue buying Iranian oil and offer a helping hand to Tehran to beat the global sanctions by buying Indian goods using rupees instead of dollars, there is a global focus on India and the Right-wing Wall Street Journal says “Delhi is turning out to be the mullahs' last best friend.”

The editorial titled ‘Iran’s Indian Enablers’, began “The world's most notorious theocracy is desperately looking for a friend with deep pockets. It has found an unlikely candidate: the world's biggest democracy.” India surpassed its neighbor China to become Iran’s biggest customer for crude oil boldly undermining the pressure from the United Nations and the European Union to chock oil-rich nation to death.

1: Americans and Brits can go hung o over us buying oil from Iran. Are they affected? ..nope not at all..its INDIA that will be affected if we strain our relationship with IRAN.. so that Americans and Brits can sell oil at double the rate..pure exploitation. I wish we take a concrete stand and say to Americans and Brits politicians to go and shovel their business etiquette to some other nations rather than cribbing that we are one of the largest oil buyers. Let Americans and British give us our share of Iraq oil fields or let the treaty of oilfields be revised to pre saddham hussain dated so that we can explore oil..will Americans and British have any guts to do that..my left foot..they will not. How many of the readers know that we have Treaty for OIL exploration with Iraq during Saddham Hussian regim and the Contract is for over 25 yrs for oil exploration and transportation to INDIA and some of the countries affected because of this is INDIA, Russia, China partly, Combodia, Thailand, Pakistan..etc..pls Next time when Americans something that stupid dont listen congress or BJP..pls show that we are not dependent nor we will budge to what the westerners say

2: Let wall street say anything, India needs to plan its strategy. Today its Wall street, tomorrow it will be your northern powerful neighbour. Indian should utilize the strategy. For example, today it is the largest importer of Iranian oil, the same way it should be the largest exporter of goods to Iran. India needs to develop Oil & Gas equipments like, on shore,off shore, Jack up rigs including equipments to buy oil against exports of Drilling equipments as well. Similar to what china does to Venezuela. Mind, once you export a piece of equipment , he needs to buy spare parts till the equipment lasts and its a great buisness as it involves billions of dollars and secure jobs. That what American does for their war Toys sold to developing countries. Unfortunately Our Public sector like ONGC has been a great failure in developing indigeneous vendors who can manufacture such equipments & cater their needs for the very reason that it will stop their share of bribe, specially to Petroleum-Oil Ministery to IAS officer and down the line the CEO of ONGC. Do I presume India lcks the will or strategy? Certainly not, but the strategy gets lost on accout of our corrupt sitting in Parliament & Assembly houses.

If You don't want Iran's oil then be ready for price hikes because our oil companies can no more handle the burden which the oil prices are putting on them and don't make a cry on the inflation and price hike, you jerks.

Even Iran can convert this threat into opportunity by uniting Anti US policy nations... and develop more business thus giving space to non USD currency for international transaction... This could weaken USD and that could damage already weaken US Economy...
