Here Are The High And Mighty Of Indian Politics

BENGALURU: A new political regime implies new power centers. And it is very obvious that those who hold such power centers are the key players of that regime. Although responsibilities are being shared among various ministers, when it comes to solving complex and crucial issues, these key players become the disguised decision makers. Modi’s clear mandate has reconfigured internal power equations within the BJP and the saffron Parivar.

In spite of Mohan Bhagawat underpinning his ideologies as the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak’s chief, Modi would any day look up to Amit Shah and Arun Jailtley to shape any future political landscape. Likewise Modi has created a circle of safe aides, through whom he would like to achieve his aspirations. These close aides include Rajanath Singh, who pitched Modi by replacing the old guard. This courageous act of Rajnath Singh went on to see the rise of Modi as the Prime Minister. He now has Suresh Prabhu and Manohar Parrikar to help him with his ambitious ‘Make in India’ campaign.

Ravish Tiwari of India Today lists out the 2014’s ‘High and Mighty Political Powerlist.’ Here is the top 10 ‘Power points’ as per Tiwari’s list:

Mr. Know Them All–Arun Jaitely:

Knows the diplomats, knows the political players, and knows the media. Arun Jaitley- Mr. Know Them AllHe basically has knowledge of everyone in Delhi and other important people from different spectrums.  All the more important factor is that he is the most trusted man of Modi along with Amit Shah. He is the ‘Eyes and Ears of Modi’ who rigorously defended Modi even in the days when the future looked uncertain. Jaitley is more of a strategist than a grass roots politician, and a legal luminary who Modi cannot let go off, in spite of his defeat in Lok Sabha Elections.
