Proposed vehicle that can transport men and material to outer-space, this elevator is a free-standing space ladder that can completely eliminate the need of large rockets.

Though the current technology doesn’t allow us to churn out materials that can endure such huge levels of stress and pressure to connect the surface of the earth and a geostationary orbit, the invention of new materials such as boron nitride nanotube and carbon nanotube, which are extremely strong and light, have brought new life of this idea.
