Cricketers and Their Tattoos Decoded

Bangalore: Tattoos are something that is very personal. These days we see a lot of people getting inked with text, images and numbers which holds a lot of value in their life. In fact while getting a tattoo we should be sure of what we want because it will last for a lifetime.

Off late our cricketers have started getting tattooed with their mottos, milestones or the names of their loved ones. Here are 10 such stylish cricketers who have floored us with both their games as well as their tattoos. Let’s have a look at what these tattoos symbolize.

1. Michael Clarke

Plays For: Australia

IPL 5: Pune Warriors

Michael Clark otherwise known as “Pup” for his cricketing mates, is the Captain of the Australian Cricket Team; both Tests and ODIs. He is a right hand middle order batsman and he occasionally takes the ball to bowl left-arm orthodox spin.

Pup has five tattoos; two on his forehand, one each on his right shoulder, back and rib cage. He has an Arabic tattoo on his left forehand which when translated says: “The pain of discipline is something similar to the pain of disappointment.” Just above this Arabic tattoo he has the Latin word “Carpe diem” inked which means “seize the day”, which is the best motto any cricketer can follow in his career.

The next one is with his Dad’s and Mum’s name written in Hindi on his rib cage. A number that no cricketer will ever forget, he has tattooed his Test Number in Roman Numerals on his back and the final one is a guardian angel on a cross with his former fiancée’s (Lara Bingle) initials.
