City Students Develop Docu Tracker For ISRO, Win Competition


CHENNAI: Students from Rajalakshmi Engineering College here emerged winners in the recently held Smart India Hackathon 2017 organised by the HRD Ministry. 

The students developed an innovative solution for Indian Space Research Organisation "for document tracking" within the space agency.

ISRO chairman A S Kiran Kumar handed over the trophy and certificates to the winners and rewarded the team with a prize money of Rs one lakh, a media release from the college said. 

The engineering college students took part in the finals of the competition held at Ahmedabad and bagged the first place among the 50 competing finalists. 

A pan India 36 hour non-stop digital programming competition, the hackathon witnessed teams taking part in the event from across 33 locations in India. 

The competition posed "500+ problem statements" to technology students from all over India. 

Another team of students from the same institution developed a project titled 'A security device for women' and it finished as one of the top six teams among 56 other finalists in the same event.
