Celebrations Break Out as India Beat Pakistan


New Delhi:People came out on the streets and burst firecrackers to celebrate India's victory over arch rivals Pakistan in the fifth match of the Asia Cup in Bangladesh . "A win against Pakistan is always special; we have won half the battle," said jubilant Rakesh Sharma from Lajpat Nagar, who was out on the roads with his friends. Young men went whizzing on their bikes and others went for drives in cars, in almost a repeat of the celebrations that followed India's win over Pakistan in the World Cup semifinal in Mohali last year. "We dont mind if India reaches the final or not, it was the main battle today, and we have won that," said Mufti Shadab from south Delhi who had come out with his friends to celebrate the victory. India chased down a stiff target to beat Pakistan by six wickets. India chased down the target of 330 with 2.1 overs to spare. Virat Kohli was the top scorer with 183 while Rohit Sharma (68) and Sachin Tendulkar (52) came up with valuable knocks.
