Budget 2015: A Potential Game Changer

budgetBENGALURU: With a huge knock out of the UPA govt and a firm grip on the ruling throne, the Modi govt budget has all the potential this year to be the most important among all the budgets held since 1991. Though the Modi govt came to power in 2014, it couldn’t influence the budget. Arun Jaitley now has the chance to establish his fame by including the best message for both economical and political issues, reports moneycontrol.com.

The report suggests that Modi and Jaitley should shrink the share of central budget and concentrate on states. The success and efficient implication of the budget will only be fruitful with the involvement of state govt. Modi has taken few steps, which will hugely affect budget 2015 but won’t be successful without involvement of the state governments.

For example, take the Make In India project, which may be even considered as Make In Bengal, Make In Maharashtra and Make In Assam, because the project vastly depends on the cooperation from the states.

One can even take the instance of the Swachh Bharat program for which our PM has taken lots of steps through central sources and other means, but keeping an area depends basically on the local municipality and hugely on the residents. Modi’s target for a Swachh Bharat can only be met by 2019.

Schemes like Dhan Jan Yojna and direct benefit transfers on LPG and kerosene are personally handled by PM Modi, so they are totally under the control of the central govt and don’t depend on the state’s cooperation.

To overcome all such issues and gain a favorable position among the citizens after the Budget 2015, Modi govt should solve the center-state issues first, so that they receive full support from the state governments.
