Govind Jaiswal

Hailing from a government school and a modest college in Varanasi Govind Jaiswal a son of a rickshaw vendor is a prime example of empowerment through education. Ailing, and with no other source of income, Govind’s father Jaiswal sold off his small plot of land to finance his son's education.

Complementing his father’s struggle and dream, Govind then took up a big challenge to do IAS and day in and day out struggled with the loud noise of power looms, factory machines and generators around the 12x8 feet rented room shared by his father, mother and two sisters. But that didn’t stop Govind there as he came out with flying colors to rank 48th in Civil Service Examination, 2006—among 474 candidates.
