1. Rai Stone:

This large, circular stone disk carved out of limestone has its own unique significance. It was used as a currency for trading by the Yapese, a native belonging to the island of Yap (Federated States of Micronesia). Even though modern currency has substituted the stones as everyday currency, the Rai stones are still exchanged in traditional ways among Yapese. The stone is recognized as national symbol and is illustrated on local license plates.
