It is called as the Great Buddha of Ushiku. It was completed in 1995 and since then it has become one of the most popular landmarks in Japan. This statue is located in Ushiku, Ibaraki prefecture, Ushiku Daibatsu that stands on a 10 meter high concrete platform and a 10 meter-high lotus flower. The giant statue weighs 4000 tons; just to imagine how big it is-only its face is 20 m (65.5 ft).
