65 Pct Indians Believe Politicians Are the Root Cause of Corruption


Bangalore: The fight against corruption in India has stirred up the political arena and it still continues. It is vital to eradicate this bane form the society, as people can’t help but bend to the imposition caused by officials demanding bribe to get their important work done. This seems like yet another struggle of Indians, who expect honesty and integrity from the politicians and the officials who vowed to serve the nation and its people. 64.7 percent people survey believed that the politicians are the root cause of corruption in India.  

The anti corruption movement has gained momentum in the country since last year. Anna Hazare’s has reinstated the Jan Lokpal debate and the high rate of scandals being exposed by Arvind Kejriwal in the nation has created a cult of men, women and youth who have joined hands to fight this social menace. This movement has triggered a certain level of conscious among government official inflicting them to stay away from being labeled as corrupt, but a large number of them still continue to ask for bribes, as reported by Abhijit Patnaik for Hindustan Times.

As per the survey conducted by Hindustan Times, 41.2 percent of respondents feel that even now government officials are inclined to take bribe.
