Hence serving in Siachen is the toughest part of any Indian soldier’s career, as the soldiers here have to serve in severe cold, which actually freezes the running blood of any living thing.

Siachen is so chilling that, soldiers here are subjected to suffer from hypothermia, frostbite and chilblains and in some extreme cases few of them had finger amputations. It is not over yet, further soldiers also endure the problem of hearing, eyesight and dehydrations due to severe effects cold as regular consumption of water is must here and conversely the place lacks consumable water.
