Muammar Gaddafi:

Muammar Gaddafi is one of the richest dictators so far. The late Libyan dictator had a net worth of $200 billion. When his assets were frozen in March 2011, some of the numbers that came out were surprising. The U.S. had held $30 billion of the family's investments, while Canada had frozen $2.4 billion, and Austria had frozen $1.7 billion. And further, U.K. had frozen $1 billion.

Gaddafi rose to power at age 27 when he led a bloodless coup to overthrow the ruling monarch. He was later appointed commander in chief of the armed forces and chairman of Libya's newly instated governing body, the Revolutionary Command Council. It was then that he began to slowly assume the entire of power.
